As Californians Move North, Oregonians Face Rising Real Estate Prices

Californians, many of whom have both plenty of cash and the desire to move out of their cramped Golden State cities, are moving to Portland and other areas in Oregon.

Some Oregonians aren’t having that, going as far as putting “no Californians” stickers on “For Sale” signs, writes MarketWatch. Partially because of the influx of southern neighbors, home values in Portland have increased from $225,000 in 2012 to $330,000 today.

The prices, a fraction of what people pay for housing in places like San Francisco and San Diego, have been found to be too steep for native Oregon residents.
