Rents Have Increased by 3.7 Percent Since Sept. 2014

The number of renters are growing without a corresponding increase in construction, CityLab reports, and rents are rising.

Further studies by New York Fed economists Jonathan McCarthy and Richard Peach found that rent is increasing a whole lot more “for those at the bottom of the economic ladder than for those at the top.”

The economists say the reason for the gap is coming from what “construction projects developers are deciding to pursue these days.”
