The Plusses of Micro-Apartments

Micro-apartments have drawn some heat recently, with critics arguing that the sub-400-square foot dwellings will displace family housing, overwhelm available infrastructure, and even harm the health of inhabitants.

But the apartments remain a viable option for single renters, as Kriston Kapps of CityLab writes. One upside is that micro-apartments free up larger apartments for families.

Many micro-apartments are pretty nice, too. They can come prefabricated with hardwood floors, storage lofts, and Juliet balconies.
