Active House raises standard on energy efficiency

While a passive house decreases energy consumption, The Active House produces more

The Active House B10 generates twice the amount of energy it needs thanks to the photovoltaic panels on the roof. The 970-square-foot house, completed last July in Germany, uses smart-grid technology and is so energy efficient it also powers a pair of electric cars as well as a building in the neighboring Weissenhof Museum. The prefab structure only takes a day to assemble once it’s on-site.
