Single-Family Built-for-Rent Construction Rises Over Last Year
The built-for-rent market experienced quite a jump. According to data from the Census Bureau and NAHB analysis, the share of single-family homes built-for-rent, was 4.5 percent of total starts (34,000 homes) as of the second quarter of 2016.
The figure is measured on a one-year moving average, and only takes into account homes built and held for rental purposes.
The historical average of the market share is 2.8 percent.
