The number of open construction sector jobs, on a seasonally adjusted basis, reached a nine-month high in June.
According to NAHB, there were 225,000 open construction jobs that month, up from 171,000 in June 2016. The open position rate rose to 3.2 percent, or 2.7 percent on a 12-month moving average basis. The construction sector hiring rate increased to 5.3 percent.
Home builders and remodelers added 118,00 jobs over the last 12 months, and industry employment has increased by more than 717,000 since the low point after the Great Recession.
