HomeAid Orange County, Calif., recently broke ground on FX Residences, a 17-unit, two-story building that will provide both housing and a community environment to locals in need of support. One completed, FX Residences, in the Lacy Neighborhood of Santa Ana, Calif., will also provide services to unhoused individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, City Ventures said in a press release on Thursday.

The new development involves collaboration between HomeAid Orange County, the City of Santa Ana, Mercy House, California Housing Finance Agency, California Department of Housing and Community Development, Orange County Housing Finance Trust, City Ventures, Bassenian Lagoni Architects, and many members of the community.

FX Residences will consist of a two-story building with flats/apartment units and covered parking, with 16 available units offered to individuals earning less than 30 percent of the area median income (AMI). The 17-unit building fits with the surrounding residential typologies. The site, located on the corner of Santa Ana Boulevard and Garfield, offers a pedestrian forward location with proximity to the train station, OC Streetcar and other public transportation resources.

“FX Residences is so much more than another new development,” said Natasha Zabaneh, president of City Ventures. “It’s a pillar of optimism and hope for our community and its underserved residents. We’re humbled to work with HomeAid Orange County to provide more residents with access to
affordable housing solutions in Santa Ana.”
