In order to streamline the process of selling a client’s existing home, leading home builder D.R. Horton Inc. has teamed up with online real estate company Zillow. Horton’s second quarter new sales orders skyrocketed 38%, and the Zillow Offers partnership will help those new construction buyers sell their existing homes in a safe, flexible way, Dallas News reports. North Texas-based Horton’s CEO has said the company’s net sales in May and June increased by more than 50% compared to past years. This could be due to buyers leaving high-cost markets for the more affordable state of Texas.
The Zillow program helps sellers market their houses and will make a bid to buy the property outright. Zillow said the partnership will help D.R. Horton buyers better time the sale of their old home.
“Buying a new home is an exciting time, and we’re proud to collaborate with the nation’s largest home builder to help people unlock life’s next chapter,” Arik Prawer, president of the Zillow Homes Division, said in a statement. “Zillow Offers puts sellers in control of their own transaction.
