Hy-Lite’s acrylic block insert kit fits standard interior doors. |
Hy-Lite Products has come up with a way to brighten dark areas of the home without sacrificing privacy. An acrylic block insert kit installs into any standard, 30-inch-wide interior door in less than an hour, says Gary Good, Hy-Lite marketing manager.
“It would be great in a dark hallway or between a master bedroom and bath,” says Good. He has one in his home between the laundry room and kitchen to capture the light from a bright window without exposing dirty laundry.
The acrylic block insert weighs 28 pounds and requires no additional reinforcement to the doorjamb. The clear blocks are available in wave, cross rib and frosted wave patterns. Good says the company is working on an exterior version.
