William Lyon, a leader in the home building industry for 63 years, has retired, according to the OC Register.
Lyon’s namesake company, William Lyon Homes, is the nation’s 20th largest builder. It sold 2,800 homes and generated $1.4 billion in gross revenue last year.
Lyon is credited with building more than 100,000 homes in six Western U.S. states over the course of his career, a statistic that hasn’t been updated in about a decade.
