Milwaukee Tool’s new Shockwave Matrix Carbide driver bits feature an updated durable design for longer use, the company says.

The addition builds off the company’s existing line of Shockwave driver bits. New bits use Matrix Carbide Steel combined with the company’s existing Shockzone technology to deliver both wear resistance and torque absorption. The result is a bit that can drive up to 2,800 more screws than its competition, the company says.

“While Shockwave Matrix Carbide will outperform other impact bits across all applications, the extreme wear resistance will be the most valuable in highly repetitive tasks such as steel stud framing, drywalling, decking, and pre-fabrication”, says Allie Jensen, product manager for Milwaukee Tool. “Applications where thousands of screws are driven lead bits to cam-out and wear overtime, but Shockwave Matrix Carbide will maintain their best fit longer than all other bits on the market.”

Matrix Carbide bits are available with shock-absorbing Shockzone geometry in varying lengths, thicknesses, and kit configurations with Phillips, Square, and Torx tips. The redesigned bits are backed with a lifetime tip warranty. 

This spring, Milwaukee will also be releasing a new impact driver, redesigned to extend driver bit life. Custom Alloy76 Steel adds up to 50 times more bit life, the company says. The driver will also feature a new Wear Guard Tip to protect the bit and Shockzone technology for torque absorption
