With More Bedrooms, Baths, and Square Footage, Homes are Getting Bigger

The largest share of homes sold last year, 40 percent, had three or more bathrooms, and 31 percent had 2.5.  About half of houses sold had four or more bedrooms, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest report about housing characteristics. The Bureau’s breakdown in changes since 1980 also delves into median sales prices, lot size, and square footage.
