After nearly two years of virtual meetings and canceled events, in-person networking and getting together with friends will be at the top of everyone’s priority list at the 2022 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS). The premier residential construction event provides countless opportunities for attendees from all niches and sectors of the industry to connect with like-minded peers they haven’t seen in a while.

From official events held after the workday, to niche-specific Communities and Centrals that provide a place to take a break from the show floor and enjoy educational experiences, there is something for everyone at IBS. Check out the schedule below to find the net- working opportunities and events that work best for you.

IBS Centrals

The IBS Centrals are a great place to explore new ideas, refine your skills and gain insights into your specific niche in the building industry. The Centrals programs are a bit more informal than traditional IBS Education sessions, but just as engaging.

They feature some of the best professionals in the industry who are passionate about their areas of expertise—so the discussions are always lively. All IBS registrants are welcome at the Centrals:

• 55+ Housing   • Custom Building   • Design   • Multifamily   • Remodeling   • Sales

Access to the Centrals is included with your Expo Pass.

Special Events

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 8 a.m., Design & Construction Week (DCW) officially kicks off with the Opening Ceremonies, powered by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Join former professional basketball player, entrepreneur, broadcaster — and the greatest point guard of all time — Earvin “Magic” Johnson for the keynote address and the start to your exciting week at the show. The Opening Ceremonies are open to all IBS registrants. General seating tends to fill up, so get there when doors open at 7 a.m.

The largest networking event of the week, the Official IBS House Party sponsored by Chase, gets going at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. You’re sure to make new friends and contacts while you relax and have fun. The House Party venue, Mango’s Tropical Café, is the hottest club in Orlando and the place to enjoy Caribbean and Latin-inspired dishes, drinks and music. Salsa, rumba, mambo and more; dance the night away and celebrate seeing your friends in person again.

Wednesday evening, Feb. 9, the IBS Young Pro Party sponsored by Pfister is the event for professionals 40 and under. Country music star and U.S. Army veteran Craig Morgan will wow the crowd starting at 8 p.m. at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red venue. Kick up your boots, unplug and let loose a little – or a lot – while you listen to Morgan’s big hits, including songs from the Billboard top charts.

After a week of networking, learning and connecting with colleagues and the industry’s best of the best, it’s time to close out the week with the IBS Closing Concert, sponsored by Signature Kitchen Suite. Once again, we’ve gone country!

Join country music superstar Trace Adkins for a private concert after the Builders’ Show wraps up at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Adkins, a Grand Ole Opry member for nearly two decades, has sold over 11 million albums in his award-winning career. This is one show you don’t want to miss.

Please note that the Official IBS House Party, the IBS Young Pro Party and the IBS Closing Concert are all ticketed events, so be sure to get yours now through BuildersShow.com. Tickets always sell out for these events, so don’t wait!
