New App Turns Old Gadgets Into a Home-Security System

A startup called Perch wants to turn some old gadgets lying around many homes into a smart home-security system, Fast Company reports.

The company’s app is designed to work with as many gadgets as possible, including the point-and-shoot cameras that have remained dormant in many cupboards since smart phone cameras improved in quality.
