The Net-Zero Energy Coalition is attempting to do something that has not been done before; catalog all the net zero energy buildings across Canada and the United States. A net zero energy building is a building that produces as much renewable energy as it consumes, or could do so with minor modifications.
According to Realty Biz News, the Net-Zero Energy Coalition found 6,771 residential units spread across 3,330 buildings in Canada and the United States that can carry the tag of net zero energy.
California is home to the most net zero energy units with Sacramento leading the way for net zero units in a single city.
