A room filled with yellows, browns, and oranges could use a cool blue to tie everything together.
Pantone released its fall forecast. Hues such as Autumn Maple, Tawny Port, and Butterum that reflect the changing colors of the fall, and the pale pink Ballet Slipper, subdued green Golden Lime and bright blue Marina are earthy tones “with a twist,” as Pantone describes.
Realtor.com explored how these colors could be incorporated into a room. The orange-brown Autumn Maple is good for large rooms with high ceilings, and the bold red Tawny Port can be an accent color in a dining room or hallway.
Pantone calls Marina “the only true cool color in the fall palette,” but design is all about balance. In a room filled with otherwise warm tones of yellows and browns, use Marina to achieve harmony and keep the overall composition fresh and engaging.
