Passivhaus standard now links performance to local climate

The standards give North American builders much wider latittude

Passive House Institute US launched a new set of certification guidelines that for the first time link building performance to the local climate.

The new guidelines differ significantly from the specifications of the Passivhaus Institut in Germany, where the certification standard originated, and gives North American builders much wider latitude in adapting buildings to local conditions.
