The New American Home 2023 in Las Vegas is in its final stages of construction in the weeks leading up to the 2023 International Builders’ Show (IBS), but its progress over the last several months has been thwarted time and time again by a number of unforeseen supply chain delays. Home builders across the U.S. have been forced to account for unprecedented supply chain hurdles lengthening production timelines over the past two years, and The New American Home 2023 is no exception, according to the National Association of Home Builders.
The finishing touches are to be added to the home over the next several days for a finished product that will debut Jan. 31-Feb. 2 during IBS 2023. All registered attendees will be able to tour the home for free during show hours.
“[After the project was underway], we sat for four or five months waiting on product,” said Michael Gardner, principal of Luxus Design Build and lead architect of the 2023 home. “We were just literally trying to get anything that showed up done and installed.”
Ultimately, building out of normal sequence did not derail the overall timeline, nor did it diminish the impressive qualities of the finished home, which will be the flagship exhibit of the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS).
