Rooftop solar systems boost home resale prices
Rooftop solar energy systems could raise the resale value of residential properties, according to separate studies from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Colorado Energy Office. The Berkeley Lab study found that larger systems lead to higher value, as each additional one kilowatt increase raises premiums by $5,911. The study from the Colorado Energy Office discovered that solar energy systems added between $1,400 to $2,600 per kilowatt to the market value of 22 out of 30 homes studied.
