The top home-improvement projects for the new year, according to Remodeling magazine’s annual Cost vs. Value report, doesn’t offer a lot of surprises from last year. The perennial chart toppers for return on investment are installing loose-fill fiberglass insulation in the attic; replacing the entry door with an attractive yet tough steel replacement; and adding manufactured stone veneer. The projects with the lowest ROI include bathroom additions, backup power generators, and backyard patios.
