After Starbucks polled its UK employees to find out what their biggest issues are, the coffee giant found out that housing came out on top, Business Insider reports.
"That is no surprise. People are working in cities and not being able to afford housing close to where they work," Kris Engskov, the president of Starbucks in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, told the Financial Times.
The national average for U.K. house prices are expected to rise by six percent this year.
In addition, the coffee chain is also raising pay for all its baristas to the new £7.20 an hour level in November from the current £6.77. Starbucks supervisors will also get a pay rise.
