Suburbs experience fast growth of immigrant population

The Brookings Institution found that, though immigrants continue to be attracted to the nation’s largest metropolitan areas, they are dispersing to more and smaller places across the country.
In the suburbs of 78 of the 97 largest metro areas, the foreign-born population grew faster than the overall population, so that a higher share of the population was foreign born in 2013 than in 2000.
