Students from Oconomowoc High School near Milwaukee, Wis., are getting hands on experience building a 2,000-square-foot ranch house, thanks to a partnership between the school district and Tim O’Brien Homes. Teens in the Building Trades III class can try out various parts of the construction process like framing, concrete, masonry, finish carpentry, plumbing, and siding and some moved on to working with subcontractors through an apprenticeship program with the local community college.
