SolarCity and the U.S. Navy will install rooftop solar systems on nearly 6,000 San Diego area homes. Navy and Marine Corps housing in 27 neighborhoods will receive PV systems under the agreement brokered between SolarCity and Lincoln Military Housing, a company that manages military family housing through a public-private partnership with the Navy. Lincoln Military Housing estimates it will save at least $60 million over the 20-year term of the power-purchase agreement.
