Using a pressure-impregnated stabilizing preservative system to protect above-ground exterior wood from the elements, termite attacks, and decay, Ecolife Stabilized Weather-Resistant Wood (EL2) from Viance also offers built-in water repellency that lasts for up to three years. The wood is more stable for structural framing of decks and wooden deck surfaces with as much as 50 percent less surface cracking and checking when compared to ordinary treated wood, the manufacturer says.
