Virginia Retirement Community Rebranding Prompted by Lack of Retirees

An age-restricted community in Leesburg, Va., changed its name from Leisure World to Lansdowne Woods of Virginia due to the decreasing number of retirees.

Accoriding to the community’s homeowners association president, one-third of the residents “are still actively engaged in some form of work in business, consulting or charities rater than spending their time fully retired,” The Washington Post reports.

Purchase of a unit in the community is limited to people over the age of 55, regardless of occupation status.
