As is true with any design field, trends come and go. What was once a can’t-live-without element can become passé seemingly overnight. But design trends work in the opposite direction, too, and something undesirable can become the next “It” feature just as quickly.
Construction Dive has compiled a list created by Joe Digrado, senior associate with Danielian Associates, and Richard Smith, of design-build firm RJ Associates, of what they feel will be the hottest trends for residential designers to consider in 2016.
Copper bathtubs, barn doors, intricate stairways, and intimate outdoor spaces are just a few of the elements residential designers are going to want to keep an eye on throughout the year.
