Realtor.com polled a collection of decor experts and real estate professionals to find out the most popular kitchen trends. Here are six trends that were mentioned again and again.
When it comes to style, realtor.com found that both modern farmhouse kitchens and minimalist high-tech kitchens are popular with homebuyers. Farmhouse details could include exposed brick, a sliding barn door, or an antique lighting fixture. Kitchens in all styles are moving towards connectivity, and homebuyers are more often prioritizing minimalism and smart appliances over lavish designs.
Realtor.com also found that white-dominated palettes are a safe bet and that stainless steel remains the most popular finish for appliances and other details. High-gloss surfaces and lacquered cabinets are also on the rise. Finally, experts say globally-inspired kitchens are attractive to homebuyers, but it is essential they blend in with the rest of the home.
