While house-cleaning robots could be helpful for just about anyone, they can be especially beneficial for seniors. Older homeowners might find house cleaning difficult, or at the very least, a waste of energy. Automated vacuum cleaners, mops, and gutter cleaners take care of all the rote chores.

Zillow named the technology one of the seven best tech upgrades for seniors, along with smart lights, monitored smoke alarms, and medical alert systems.

Another innovation mentioned is the automatic stove shut-off, which turns off stoves if the heat is unattended for too long. The feature reduces accidental fires in the kitchen.
