Amazon Teases Entry Into Real Estate

Residential real estate sites like Zillow and Redfin may have to deal with another competitor, one that continues to innovate and enter new spaces.

HousingWire reports that Amazon quietly added a “Hire a Realtor” webpage in its Home and Business Services section. The giant quickly took the page down, possibly due to a trademark dispute with the National Association of Realtors over the term “Realtor.”

An article in GeekWire, however, by Monica Nickelsburg, stated, “When reports of the Amazon page surfaced, Zillow’s stock price slumped from $46.15 a share to $44.54 as of Wednesday morning, showing just how closely investors are watching the Seattle retailer.”
