Are Single-Family Homes Hurting the U.S. Homeownership Rate?

Urbanist website Sustainable Cities Collective looks at the share of single-family homes, homeownership rates, and urbanization in 18 countries.

Australia, Canada and the U.S. have the highest share of single-family detached homes, while their homeownership rates fall to the lower half of the list.

This poses the question of whether or not having fewer available attached homes is affecting the U.S. homeownership rate.
