Beadboard | Boral Composites

March 14, 2016
This article first appeared in the PB March 2016 issue of Pro Builder.

Three beadboard profiles have been added to Boral Composites’ line of Boral TruExterior Beadboard. The new options include a 4-inch, a double-4, and a double-6 and are made with the company’s poly-ash material, which addresses the moisture- and movement-related issues commonly seen with other exterior materials. The 4-inch beadboard features beads that are closer together, better aligning with the beaded pattern found in traditional wood offerings. The new double-4-inch and double-6-inch beadboard profiles boast the same appearance as their single-profile counterparts, but with twice the coverage area to reduce installation time. Each of the three new beadboard profiles measures 5/8 inch thick and comes in 16-foot lengths; at double the length, the boards equate to fewer seams than if 4-by-8 wood sheets were used.
