Builders Ask Chapel Hill to Reform Home Construction Permits

Builders report that the construction permit process in Chapel Hill, N.C., can take “three times as long and cost three times as much as working in other jurisdictions,” The News & Observer reports.

According to The News & Observer, builders also wanted local officials to consider an express permit review for some projects, as well as shorter wait times and changes to outdated local land-use rules.
