Livability Ranks the Top 100 Places to Live

Among all cities with a population of 20,000 to 350,000, Rochester, Minn., takes first place

High quality schools, civil engagement, and a diverse range of affordable housing has pushed Rochester, Minn., to the top place of Livability’s 100 best U.S. places to live.

This year, Livability collaborated with urbanist Richard Florida and academic Steven Pedigo from the Initiative for Creativity and Innovation in Cities at NYU School of Professional Studies in compiling the list.

Cities and towns with populations between 20,000 to 350,000 were analyzed using a number of criteria. Other cities that made the top five are Bellevue, Wash., Madison, Wis., Santa Barbara, Calif., and Boulder, Colo.
