The Best Cities To Find A Good Job

People who need jobs should head to Arizona or Texas. Both those states have several cities that rate highly on the Best Cities for Jobs list.

WalletHub ranked the 150 most-populated cities based on 23 indicators of job market strength, including job opportunities, median annual income, and most affordable housing. Commute times and employment growth were also factored in.

Scottsdale, Az., ranked first overall, finishing first in job market rank and second in socioeconomic environment rank. Other hot Arizona cities include Chandler (No. 7), Tempe (No. 9), Peoria (No. 11), and Gilbert (No. 18). Texas was led by Plano (No. 2), Garland (No. 17), Dallas (No. 21), Austin (No. 22), and Grand Prairie (No. 26).

Fort Wayne, Ind., has the most affordable housing, Tallahassee, Fla., has the shortest commute time, and Tacoma, Wash., has the highest median starting salary.

Detroit finished last in the overall rankings.
