Homebuyers Want Walkable Communities

Survey data show that walkability remains a top priority for house hunters, and nearly two-thirds say they would pay more to live in a walkable neighborhood

Homebuyers are increasingly seeking out walkable communities, with a recent survey from the National Association of Realtors showing that 89% of survey respondents saying sidewalks and walking trails are important when deciding where to live.

Additionally, 82% say being within walking distance to community amenities, shops, and restaurants is important, and 74% say having a place to walk or exercise a pet is important.

It's clear that Americans place a high value on making sure the place they call home has the amenities they need to lead a happy and healthy life.
