Existing-Home Sales Post Third Consecutive Annual Gain

Existing-home sales fell by 2.4% in June on a month-over-month basis, but compared with June 2025, they were up by nearly 3%

Despite a slight month-over-month dip, existing-home sales recorded their third annual gain in June. According to data from real estate marketing platform Realtor.com, existing-home sales were up by 2.8% from June 2025 but 2.4% below May’s rate of existing sales.

Meanwhile, pending-home sales were up across the board

Pending-home sales grew by 3.8% month-over-month, and year-over-year, they were up by 4.8%.

Slow home-price growth is helping improve home sales

Home sales prices rose just slightly in June by 1.8% to $440,600. This gradual growth has helped maintain a steady rate of sales. However, some regions posted higher gains. In the Northeast, home prices grew by 3.9%, and in the Midwest, they grew by 2.7%. Meanwhile, the South and West both recorded smaller increases of just 0.9% each.
