Housing Pros Regain Confidence in the Market

Both construction and design firms are reporting renewed optimism, with both sectors expecting new business over the next quarter

Despite ongoing economic headwinds, housing industry professionals remain optimistic about future business activity. According to Houzz’s Q3 2026 Pro Industry Barometer, construction firms expect business activity to improve, driven primarily by recent project inquiries. Meanwhile, design firms have seen an uptick in both project inquiries and newly committed projects.

That optimism comes alongside persistent market pressures. Pros are navigating a combination of cost, labor and client-related concerns, and they are responding strategically to protect profitability.
