Rising home values and low mortgage rates make it easy for homeowners in several Colorado cities to refinance.
SmartAsset ranked the top 25 counties that are taking advantage of low interest rates, based on the most refinance loans relative to their population. Six of the counties in the top 10 are in Colorado, with Summit, Grand, Park, and Douglas taking the top four spots, with each having at least six loans refinanced for every 100 residents.
For a sense of scale, let’s look at the difference between Summit County (8.1 per 100), which refinanced the most, and the county which refinanced the least – Sioux County, North Dakota. Our data shows that residents were 177 times more likely to refinance in Summit County than in Sioux County.
