Compact Pair of Houses Built in Raleigh, N.C.

The Raleigh Architecture Company designed urban infill housing by putting two homes in close proximity to each other.

Called Edentwin, the two houses side-by-side in a tight lot in downtown Raleigh, N.C., share a central courtyard. Sharing the outdoor space was the best way to maximize land use, Design Milk reports.

Simple materials were used to build the house: metal pan-formed concrete foundations, wood stud walls, and engineered wood floors.
