Fewer Low-Credit Borrowers Are Trying To Get Mortgages
Since the recession of 2008, fewer borrowers who have low credit scores are applying for mortgages. Mortgage denial rates are down, but that appears to be because potential low-credit applicants have given up trying to qualify. Lower-credit mortgage applicants accounted for 33% of the market in 2015 compared to 49% in 2006.
