Italian tile manufacturer Iris Ceramica Group recently debuted new Terrazzo-style porcelain surfaces and a selection of large format marble panels under its Fiandre brand and new onyx lookalikes under its Ariostea brand. In total, 13 new surfaces fit for both residential and commercial applications were released under the II Veneziano, Maximum Marmi, and Marmi Classici lines. The collection falls into the “quintessential terrazzo trend” with inspiration from 15th-century Venetian palaces.

Designed and developed by Amsterdam, Netherlands-based studio GG-loop, the Freebooter is a two-family duplex apartment building that balances environmental construction with the wellbeing of its inhabitants. Freebooter is a small building consisting of two duplexes measuring 1,292 square feet each. Located in the center of the island of Zeeburgereiland in Amsterdam and facing the Ij river, the building is sensitive to Dutch history, customs and culture.

Italian electric heating manufacturer OLMAR has introduced two new electric fireplaces that provide heat and sanitize interiors. Released as part of Milan Design Week 2021, the two electric fireplaces include Line and Square. The products—which the company says “stand out for their geometric shapes, versatility and formal rigor”—were designed by Giulio Cappellini, who became the brand’s artistic director this year.

The company, established in 1993, reclaims wood floors and old timbers from factories and cotton mills in the UK. Woodworks by Ted Todd’s entrance into the U.S. market comes at a time when more homeowners and residential pros seek products with bespoke, authentic, and artisanal features, flooring included.
