12 Places Where It’s Getting Tougher To Buy A Home

The secret is out about Jacksonville. The Florida city boasted opportunity and affordability, and was frequently suggested as one of the best up-and-coming housing markets of 2017. Now, buyers there are seeing their purchase power dip.

National Mortgage News found 12 cities where soaring home prices, tight inventory, and high demand are making it tough to buy a home. Results were based on data from the First American Real House Price Index, which measures changes in home prices and income.

Jacksonville ranked first with a 20.6 percent annual Index change. Milwaukee, Charlotte, Cincinnati, and Denver round out the top five.
