How to Make Single-Family Homes Urban and Sustainable

A paradigm shift in American housing design does not mean single-family homes should vanish.

According to Sustainable Cities Collective, it is possible to create urban, high density single-family homes that fit new preferences and are efficient.

“Without losing the quality and appeal of a traditional single-family community, micro homes (under 1000 sq. ft.) can create neighborhoods of truly detached single-family homes at densities of over 20 units per acre,” urbanist Alex Lenhoff writes.
