All Dvele homes are completely self-powered by solar energy, eliminating dependence on fossil fuels and the power grid. Integrating energy-efficient systems, smart home technology, and environmentally friendly materials, they use 84% less energy per square foot than traditionally built homes. Dvele homes can actually generate more energy than they consume, making them not just net zero but net positive producers of energy. With each Dvele home produced, millions of pounds of carbon emissions are avoided over the life of the home.

In June, Dvele broke ground on a new foundry the size of six football fields in Butte, Montana, in a ceremony featuring Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte. The new foundry, set to begin operation in 2025, is part of the company’s plans to build 10 foundries across America in coming years.

“This will be the most state-of-the-art advanced foundry for home manufacturing in the world,” says Kurt Goodjohn, Dvele CEO and co-founder. “It will lay the foundation for us to create the Essential line of homes for average hard working Americans, in addition to advancing the idea of creating a universal, federal certification for homes to raise the standard of living.”

The $120 million Butte foundry aims to produce housing units that are 30% to 40% more affordable than conventional homes, along with amenities such as industry training, daycare, and housing for its own employees.
