A CityLab report indicates that although primary city populations have grown faster than their respective suburbs between 2010 and 2013, the increase has slowed in the last year. Last year, 19 of 51 metropolitan areas saw urban growth, with the city of New Orleans experiencing the fastest growth. The Houston area saw the most suburban growth, while Chicago and Portland experienced similar city and suburb growth rates.
