A slowdown in housing prices is great news, NYT columnist says

Aug. 27, 2014

The New York Times real estate columnist Neil Irwin argues that there shouldn’t be “glumness in the latest news on housing prices.”

He further contends that slower home price rises, and even an outright decline in some markets, are a sign that the housing market is moving away from the “boom-and-bust cycle of the last dozen years toward a market where sensible prices driven by local economic conditions prevail.”
