Housing Starts Break the Million Mark for 2014

According to the NAHB, total housing starts for 2014 reached the 1 million mark for the first time since 2007.

With revisions for October and November, housing construction data from the Census Bureau and HUD for December was pushed to a total of 1,005,800 for the year. Multifamily starts were up 16 percent to 358,000 for the year, while single-family construction was up 7.2 percent.
