Renovation Demand Will Increase as Housing Stock Ages

According to the NAR, housing stock in the U.S. is getting older, with a structure’s average age at 40 years old.

Analysts expect that homeowners will need to do some renovation and remodeling “for structural or aesthetic purposes prior to selling their homes,” or homebuyers may need to do the work themselves.
