According to the NAHB, single-family homes built for rent registered 7,000 starts for the fourth quarter of 2014.
The share of single-family homes built for rent in 2014, 3.7 percent, is higher than the historical average of 2.8 percent. However, this is down from the 5.8 percent registered at the beginning of 2013.
